Renewing outdoor cushions
Hi folks
I have a couple of 3 seater outdoor settees that need to have new covers for the long seat pads and wondered if I am as well to get new cushion inserts with covers rather than just the covers alone? Does anyone know if there is a significant cost for the pads? Does anyone have a guide to what sort of costs are involved?
many thanks for any help
cheers

Re: Renewing outdoor cushions
I had my outdoor cushions re covered last year, also new cushions made for the back of the chairs,
six of each.
They were made by the little shop in Catalkoy.
Drive through Karakum, when you see the big Lemar on the left hand side, it is the small parade of shops before the turning for Lemar. She is the last shop on the parade. She has a lovely selection of patterns,
most of them waterproof.
I can't actually remember the cost, as she covered a garden umberella too, but I thought she was very reasonable, and she made them in the time that she estimated.
Hope this helps.

Re: Renewing outdoor cushions
As my dog and cats had squashed the back cushions of my settee and chairs to pancake size, I went to the shop at Karaoglanoglu on the main road near to the Post Office (a little further along if coming from Kyrenia). Not only did they require re-filling but they needed new calico inner cushions. They did three for me (I think it was) for 100tl. It is worth going to talk to them and get a quote. They have been there for years and I have never heard any complaints about them. Sorry can't give a name or phone number, but you cannot miss them, as they have a selection of chairs outside on the pavement.

Re: Renewing outdoor cushions
I have just had four long lounge cushions recovered which cost me TL100 which was the cost of the material. I also had 4 chair cushions, with high backs, covered for 50TL.
These were done in the material factory in Famagusta. You pay only for the material you select and he makes them up for free. You might have to pay for foam, I am not sure as I did not need any.
Hope this helps.

I can confirm what carrierbag says, the Fabric Warehouse in Famagusta have a huge selection of material and they make up curtains, bedspreads
and cushions for free. You do have to pay for the foam but it is very reasonably priced.

Re: Renewing outdoor cushions
Unfortunately it is not in the centre of Famagusta but is on an industrial estate next to a mosque with twin minarettes.
I will try my best and give directions. When you reach the roundabout with the bronze statues on, outside the walled city, head down towards the marina. Before you reach the marina take a right turn which will take you into the old part of Famagusta past the old post office. On the left you will see the fenced off areas of properties. Follow the road until you come to a no entry sign and take the road to the left, when you reach the T junction turn right. You will see a school on the right hand side, when you come back down to the main road again turn left and follow this road untill you see the mosque. After the mosque take the first right turn and immediately left and the warehouse is on the left. It is in a rather run down area but is worth the effort of going. I should point out that this is the way that I go but some Kibkommers may know a different way which might be easier.

I had four big seat covers, four big seat backs covers and new foam all for 45tl.
I went to the little haberdashery in Catalkoy next to the Lemar on the main road.
Excellent service and value for money.
I highly recommend them.

Re: Renewing outdoor cushions
I went to the material warehouse in Famagusta the other day and went a slightly more straightforward way, I think;
Follow signs for the town centre 'till you get to the roundabout with the monument on it. Take the 2nd exit (Larnaca Road) and follow the road down to until you see a new tower block on your left. Take the next left turn (2 large palm trees in a garden on the corner of the road) and then take the first right by the playground and follow this road for a couple of miles. You will pass a large Church on your left and will eventually see a Mosque with 2 Minarets, on the right. Turn immediately right after this, then right again and first left. The warehouse is a short way down on the left.
A bit of a maze inside but well worth a visit.

Mermaid Fabrics on the main road to Catalkoy, r/h side opposite KPet garage. They do an excellent job for any type of cushion or seat covers. As they also make furniture I am sure they would do foam refills. Have used them for many different things

Hi Julia. I was on the road from Lefkosa that goes past the Ercan turning. Just one straight road. Hope this helps.
