Septic tank repair

Do we have to get any permission from the Belydere to start repair work on our septic tank. Someone said that we do. But surely, as all the stuff is underground on our land then they shouldn't have to be involved. If it was to get connected to mains drainage then they would have to be involved which we understand. I don't even know if there is a main drainage thing near our place!!!!! Any comments and advice would be welcome. We are in Central Girne not far from Café Dukkan.

Thanks gates. That is what I thought. And anyway surely a builder wouldn't put our tanks underneath someone else's land?!?! Mind you this is Northern Cyprus!!!!!!!!
