Puma,s RFC vs UN Hamelm Shark,s . Well I was looking forwards to this match and it didnt disappoint , Me and my wife Patti(the one who must be obeyed in all things) had a good old breakfast bacon eggs etc to set us up for the match , One look at the weather told us to put on a good jumper and a jacket off we went to Ozankoy Stadium for the 1 o,clock kick off . Good parking next to the ground glad and to see a covered seating area bar and hot food on the barbi being cooked, . So in we went found some excellent seats just about in line with the half way line .one look at the ground knew it was going to be a bit of a muddy affair, water hanging around the posts cut up a bit from the football game the day before , This reminded me of games played in the mud mostly in my youth where kicking the ball along the ground ended with going just a few feet if not inches,
We had seen the Pumas play lots of times against teams from Turkey and UK and UN Hamelm Sharks before, with some wins some defeats but all wins for rugby ,
We noticed a piper yes a piper , yes we looked twice in full gear kilt dagger etc.
So to the game Our captain and driving force of the team and club its got to be said is Sbastien Crebier lead the teams out and scored with in a few mins I was beginning to think yes a win was on the cards but the skill of the UN Hamelm Sharks in the breakdown, passing and running game , although hampered by a narrow ground soon lead to a try only to be followed by a tune played by the piper this soon became a regular thing something like Name that Tune , The puma,s battled on in the best spirit of the game but sadly ended the game with a bit of a drumming to go with the piper , But saying we lost is not the story, its that we played and played well we never gave up played till the last ,everybody was so glad to be there, I for one am looking forwards to the next match and many more , and to say a Big thank you to the first aid guys in their orange jackets who did a great job was a little worried when a clash of heads lead to one of the pumas lead put for what seemed a age but after treatment went back on to play and an BIG BIG thank the UN Hamelm Sharks for showing what rugby is all about love of the game ,COME ON YOU PUMAS!
