The Two Castles Trail Ultra in Cyprus takes place in one month's time -- on May 24, 2014 -- in the Kyrenia range of mountains.

This is a three-in-one event:

1. The 80km Lionheart run -- from Kantara castle, following single-track trails and jeep tracks across the spine of the Kyrenia range to the Five Fingers mountains and then on to Buffavento castle and eventually down to Bellapais village for a spectacular finish.

2. The 27km Braveheart run -- from the Alevkaya herbarium to Bellpais (the last 27km of the Lionheart run) -- a tough and adventurous run on the island's most exquisite trails -- not to be missed for those not ready to tackle the full 80km ultra

3. The 10km Mountain Goat challenge -- a good introduction to the rocky but enticing trails of Cyprus. This race follows the last 10km of the Lionheart run. Starting on very rocky, watch-your-step trails, the course ends on a long stretch of jeep track that winds slowly and happily down to the finish line at Ambelia village in Bellapais.
