We are new to TRNC
Hi all we moved to the island 3 weeks ago and I have registered with the forum today so I hope I have posted my questions in the right place?
1) we need to send 2 packing boxes here from Turkey, 2m x 1m approx. Does anyone know if we need to snd them by cargo or as it is only 2 boxes can they be sent by courier? and if so can they be delivered to our home or will we need to collect them elsewhere?
2) does anybody know of a shoe repairers around Girne?
Thank you for any replies and I hope I have posted the questions correctly!

Karşılama, I cannot help on your 1st query. However, there is an excellent cobbler in the parade of shops down from the Colony Hotel towards the town centre, just past the taxi stand on the left - opposite the Beli' sitting area. The main car park is just over the road as well, so it is conveniently situated.

You can probably get Yurtici Cargo to courier them, failing that both Fedex and DHL deliver here. They will also handle customs the level of difficulty will depend on the contents.
Don't know where in Turkey but I just booked 2 return flights to Istanbul on THY for £110 the pair so it may be cheaper to go and get them!
I am told it is cheaper to courier to the UK than to here from Turkey, just for the record.

Some are wise and some otherwise.....

Cafe Boss is the agent here for DHL. ..you can always go in and ask him, he is English. Cafe Boss is situated very near to HSBC Bank. It is down a side road on the left of HSBC as you face the bank. Hope you get sorted.

With boxes that size, if they're not urgent, I'd suggest having them sent by PTT Kargo. They'll arrive within 10 days or so, and if they are stopped by customs you can deal with it yourself at the Post Office instead of dealing with customs agents and their fees. Much cheaper than courier too, a 20kg box comes to under 100TL (depending on insurance value too).
