Cat flap
I am trying to locate a cat flap of the type opened by a magnet worn on the cats collar so that no other cat can enter. I seem to remember it being mentioned in a post about another animal matter a while back I have done a search but come up blank. Any ideas?

Re: Cat flap
Various Pet Shops here sell cat flaps, but don't know if they sell the magnetic kind. Why not go in and check and if they haven't got them in stock, could maybe order one for you, or else get it on the internet. Lots of different types of magnetic cat flaps, at various prices on the internet. Where did you do your search?

Just on here for a previous comment. I know I can order one from my vet but it takes ages and is very expensive.

Re: Cat flap
You can get them now that open with your cats microchip(assuming they have them, not sure if you can get cats chipped here?).
I have had the magnetic type in the past and found the cats were not happy about the additional weight of the magnet-so much so I was forever retrieving magnets and collars from neighbours .

I tried them several times in UK and they were a pain in the tonsils to say the least! Always looking for the collar etc
Not too sure if cat flaps are a good idea here anyway ??
Best of luck
cheers

Philoz maybe I should have said 'long tonsils' - same thing - but hey I am polite and a lady!
Still does not change my view of cat flaps though!

Do you go South? I am sure I saw one in the pet shop on the ring road next to the vets last time I bought a normal cat flap.

I can look for you but be warned my normal one was quite expensive I dread to think how much the one you want would cost!
