Transit Passengers at Istanbul

Have to change planes at Istanbul for Ercan. Is it still chaotic going through transit when showing boarding card and through security? Or has it improved?

We had boarding passes both ways for next flight
coming 8 weeks ago uk plane arrived on airgate straight to airside no security
returning uk 3 weeks ago bus from plane no sticker needed for passport just security scanners then up the stair to airside

I use this route frequently, the only hold up can be the X-ray machine if there are a lot of planes have come in before you, but it really is quite straight forward and hastle free.

One tip is that if it is very busy at the first security position carry straight on down the concourse and there is another one. It just takes you further on in the departure lounge so you have to back track.

my most recent flights and those of friends and family were a dawdle with no extra security and almost landing at the next gate needed - huge difference! Long may it last
