If it works in Istanbul, why not in N Cyprus?

I think any recycling over here needs a big push . Why is it in countries I've visited over the past few years homeless , or at least look & act that way , wade thro bins to collect plastic bottles etc & have huge bags of them to go & cash in for recycling but we can't do nothing like that here .

Also why don't Carlsburg recycle there bottles from bars like efes do , it must save them a fortune & far better for the environment , there must be 1000"s every week go in the bins from bars all over Cyprus .

YES very good IDea!!!!!! I hope soon these machines are built, brought, whatever HERE!!!! This Island Def needs it. And I wish there was more about recycling. I tend to save a lot of plastic containers for food storage n such. and glass too!!! what to do with them, I have no idea. Just imagine IF people volunteered some time or while on a stroll collected trash and recycled. this island could be in better shape. Many dreams for this island and yet almost impossible to achieve. :T

I think from memory (which is not always correct) there was talk that a recycling business was to be set up. Does anyone remember or know what happened (or in this case, didn't)?
