Escape beach
Can anybody tell me what it is like down there during the daytime?
I know the racket some evenings is horrendous.
We used to love it before it was 'discofied"and they started to charge for parking.

Re: Escape beach
It's fab! It's very clean, and there are lots of sun beds, grass verges and decking for those who don't like the sand, a great cafe area (meals are HUGE, so 2 can share) and waiter service. The entrance fee is now 20TL, but I think it's worth it if you go now and again.
Caveat: it gets PACKED at weekends, but it's relatively empty during the week.

Shayna beach on the East side don't charge for parking, have decking, grass areas, lots of sun beds and umbrellas, a beach snack bar, a restaurant, waiter service, canoes and a jet ski. It's much cheaper than 20tl too!

It's in Catalkoy, way past Cratos, Supreme etc. Turn left off the mainroad at The Happy Valey Cafe and follow road round; it's on your left.

Happy Valley doesn't seem to be in the news these days. Anyone eaten there recently?

Re: Escape beach
Visited twice during our last two trips out in March and June.
It was recommended by our neighbours, who said that whilst it was basic, food was good, service friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Obviously sat indoors in March and had a good meal....returned again in June, sitting outside and whilst its only just off the main road the grape vine and foliage seemed to shut out the traffic and again had a very nice, reasonably priced meal. As its only a 5 min drive from our place we will be making regular calls in for more meals. Like the place very much.

Re: Escape beach
Went yesterday - very disappointed! It is a lovely area and been a few times in the past with visitors, but yesterday the beach looked as though it had not been cleaned for some time, many of the umbrella stands and umbrellas were broken, and they would not allow anyone onto the grassed area, and the music was extremely loud until it was turned off (by request??). Also the water hammocks have been removed. Such a pity because it used to be a 'must visit' for our visitors.

Re: Escape beach
Papa bravo where did you go? Escape or Shayna?
We were at Shayna on Friday and the beach was clean and brollies were all fine.
We ate there last night too and everything was excellent.
There had been a wedding at Shayna as Deniz 1 mentioned and there is also one at Cornaro on Saturday evening. These private events are obviously booked and paid for and will of course cause some disappointment and disruption.

My friends and I go to Shayna twice a week. It is always clean and the umbrellas and sunbed matresses are new this year. You pay 10TL for use of these. The staff are really friendly and we have a good time there. Don't know if the previous poster was commenting on Shayna or Escape but every morning the boys rake the sand etc.

Re: Escape beach
Went to Shayna once and refused to pay the charge as I was not going to use beds or Umbrellas, I just wanted a swim, They tried to refuse access saying it was their beach and "we clean the Sea" after peeing myself laughing and telling the guy to politely B-----r off! I went for a swim anyway.I have also noticed guests being shipped in from local hotels not paying the charge!
