Ice Bucket Challenge for Tulips

An ice bucket challenge has been organised for tomorrow night at the Sh Boom Bar in Alsancak in aid of Tulips.

Savas (owner of the Sh Boom) and Sunny (Bar Man) are going to be the first 'victims' of the evening with others to follow, starting at 10pm. Please come along and watch them getting soaked for charity.

If you wish to nominate anyone for this challenge then please do so, this is an ideal opportunity so bring them down with some friends and sponsor them on the evening.

If you wish to just come along and watch then you are more than welcome.

The evening will will be full of entertainment including music from DJ Pete Murray and some karaoke.

That sounds like a grand idea, I think I will nominate my wife as long as I can pour the ice/water on her!!

I can understand people drawing attention to a charity by having their hair cut, or moustache. Running, cycling etc. is at least also good for you and you can find a lot of sponsors, on one occasion I managed to get several hundred pounds for cycling around our villages in Wiltshire.

I really find it extraordinary to take precious water, spend money freezing it and then throwing it over somebody.
(I suppose you can stand in your veggie plot or flower bed)

I have told everybody that I will donate money to help with the medical expenses of a lovely young local woman and I can do it without the help of ice or water.
She has cancer of the jaw and teeth. She has three beautiful young children. Her husband is the local plumber and they are such a lovely family and I am so sad for them
The village have collected more than 10k already. She is having her operation right now in Istanbul, this is were her family live and they are looking after the children so they can be near her.
