Very easy - come over the Metahan border, turn right then straight on over the lights to the next main traffic lights junction, turn right - straight on over the large roundabout and carry on along this road until you see a main turn off left to Strovolos. Carry on along this road for 2 or 3 miles, past a large hospital on your left. More traffic lights but go straight over and you will see Lidl on your right next to a large petrol filling station.

I'll try ..
Exit the border at Metahan & turn right, keep on this road to the "T" traffic lights, turn right ..
Stay on this road till you see a large Greek church on your left, just after this turn left "sign on right for Larnaca" ..
Straight on this road till you come to a roundabout with a huge sign on the building METRO ..
Turn right at this island "3rd exit" .. Follow this road for about a mile looking to turn right when you see the Lidl sign ..
Lidl is on your left ..
Hope this makes sense ..

Just to avoid confusion there are at least 4 Lidl in Nicosia, above are the directions to 2 different ones!! The first is nearer & easier IMHO.

Well, I didn't know that & only went last week to the one I gave directions to ..
As the directions to the 1st one says Lidl is on the right ..
Would you have to do a "U" turn somewhere ?

Hi

Have a look at;

Lidl Cyprus main site; http://www.lidl.com.cy/en/home.htm?rdeLocaleAttr=en

Click on store locations / opening hours.

Unfortunately the store location link did not open when I tried it.

Their location maps are OK but if you want a better map, copy the address into google maps.

No you do not have to do a U turn just cross the oncoming traffic.

ozankoys .. I would like to know where this Lidl is ..
If you turn left on the road I think it is just past the big Greeek church .. From the 1st roundabout it is dual carriageway ..
Where is the left turn after the big roundabout ..

OK, my turn! Cross at Metahan. Turn right at the Coke Factory traffic lights (if you have got that far the rest is a breeze). Take the first left off the first roundabout (the Greek Army are off that roundabout as well). Turn right at the first traffic lights. Carry on up that road to the traffic lights (T Junction) at the top and turn left. Stay on that road to the next set of traffic lights (T Junction) and turn left. Stay on that road to the next set of traffic lights and when they are GREEN go straight over - you will find Lidl about 500 mtrs on your right! Easy and close. There is another - faster, way that also takes you past MacDonnalds but who can go past MacDonnalds - lol.
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

That is a long way round, the first set of instructions are the quickest way.
After you cross the roundabout with the rings there are three sets of lights, after the third the road goes down hill on the left at the bottom is the turning to Strovolos, follow this road to the a set of lights at the dual carraigeway, strieght over and you will see a multi colored building which is the bowling ally, Lidl's is the next building on your right but you will see big signs before this.

Great thread. Does everyone think it's cheaper to shop at lidl. Taking into account the cost of petrol and insurance???? I'm moving over soon so wouldn't mind a bit of advise

ham on brown.

You have to balance the trip, normal insurance is 25 Euros for a car, we buy our insurance and use it to top up on the items not available in the North.
This we only do about four times a year, but in that month we go over the border 4 times to get the full value from the the insurance.
The best buy is pork liver in Alfa Maga at the price cooked and chopped it is good dog food and cat food.
Alfa Maga are now doing a range of Tesco's products, the Chinese items are fare cheaper and very good. One item, Chinese sweet chill sauce small bottle cost aprox 13 TL here it costs 3.5 Euros for a pint bottle at Alfa Maga.
This is just one item but there are lots more.
But when you arrive there is a very cheap supper market called Anthaneids ( may not be spelled correct as the name on the outside is in Greek ) who sell most of the needs of all restaurants on the Island, plus Lidl's is just up the road along with Sports Direct. It doesn't get any better.

karmels, love it! Not to be pedantic about the whole thing but I hope you are going to Lidl at Markou Mpotsari, Strovolas? If so then your route - according to Google Maps is 6.8Km. My "long way round" route to the same place (just past the K-Plex) is 5.9Km - but it does take 60 seconds longer!!! I will give yours a try next time to see if the "longer" journey is worth the time saving + extra fuel costs - lol. Just love it here.

Ah! Its just for fun and any new route is worth a try as you never know what you can find along the way! I have tried my other route that goes past the Alfa Mega/MacDonnalds turning but it is a "touch" longer and costs lots more - stop at MacDonnalds + stop at Alfa Mega - so if its just a quick trip to Lidl I use my other route. However, this does take you past the turn off for Egnomi Mall and the SuperHome (everything you dont need but can't help buying just in case) shop whilst the boss wanders around trying on things - that will never fit in this life time - at Debenhams........ Oh, but its a hard life.
