Re: samsung galaxy 10.1
Hi Andrew,
The short answer is that a lot of the model nos. refer to the particular variant that's sold in different countries (for example, I have a P7510, which I bought from the US before the Tab was available in the UK, the 7510 did not become available in the UK, it was a slightly different model no. there).
There are 3 questions that you need to ask yourself before choosing a Tab:
1. do you want the 10.1" Galaxy Tab (older model, cheaper, not likely to be upgraded to the latest version of Android, mine has no SD card slot but other variants might), or the 10.1" Galaxy Tab 2 (newer, running the latest version of Android, micro-SD card slot, more expensive);
2. do you want the Tab to have 3G connectivity as well as wi-fi;
3. how much memory do you want (8/16/32/64GB);
Once you've decided on those, a trip to Google via "Galaxy Tab 2" +32GB +3G (as written) should show you what's available regardless of the variant number. If you're near Alsancak, give me a shout & you can have a gander at mine in action if that would help you decide what you want.
Hope this helps,
Ian

If I were buying an android tablet today the ones below would be my first choice, especially as a laptop replacement, unless 3/4 G support was a requirement.andrew4232 wrote:cheers ian thats very kind, i got a laptop thats on its last legs and was thinking about about not repalacing like for like but going for a tablet and trying cloud storage etc as i use it less now for work only do a spread sheet or two a week, mostly its for personal use

Just to note the high res version of this tablet , the transformer infinity is due to hit stores in the next week or so and will ultimately be replacing the lower res version, the transformer prime. The prime was launched at price of 499 and the infinity is due to launch at the same price, so for a period there should be some good deals on the prime as the infinity starts to replace it and retailers look to get rid of stocks of the prime.andrew4232 wrote:cheers erol i will have a look on ebay see how its priced any ideas on what sync software would work with it as i got a samsung galaxy phone
What do you want to sync between the two devices ? Contacts ? Calendar ? Pictures ? Apps themselves ? There are many ways to do this, using standard android apps and with third party add on apps as well. For example with email and contacts you can sync 'via' a gmail account. Any contacts you add on one device will be added to your gmail account contacts and when you use the other device it can automatically sync with the same account and thus get the new contacts. Similar can be done with photos and say a flickr account. Take a picture on one device , it syncs it with your flickr account and when you use the second device it will get the photo. Or there are ways to just sync directly from one device to the other and not 'via' an online account / service as well.
