Lapta walkway dogs
I went for my normal walk this morning and was annoyed by the amount of dogs being walked on the path ,there are signs that dogs are not allowed no one takes any notice . I have nothing against dogs but there is plenty of open spaces to walk the dogs why do they have to use the path ,it's not very pleasant when a dog is nipping at your ankles while you are trying have a peacefull walk ,and saying sorry is just not good enough please Lapta Belediye do something about it .

italcyp,
This is Cyprus, they don't even recognise traffic lights. A sign is not compulsory it was paid for by the EU but nobody knows what it says??
It is only the expats who complain about this as the locals see it as a nice walk, and yes I know expats are walking their dogs on the path, but after seeing the locals do it and nothing is done, so beit, I will do the same.

The "locals" are not the major offenders its the brits,I know of one person who lives near the walkway but takes his dogs to the other end so that his neighbours don,t complain.
Two wrongs don,t make a right.Let your dog,s crap around your house not on the walkway.

To be fair, most of 'us expat dog owners' do carry poop bags around with us, and clean up after our animals. (Locals tend to look at us in amazement )13roman58 wrote:The "locals" are not the major offenders its the brits,I know of one person who lives near the walkway but takes his dogs to the other end so that his neighbours don,t complain.

Stray dogs, on the other hand, can't read the 'no dogs' notice, and have no one to clean up for them
Incidentally, I would love to take my dog for a walk on the Lapta walkway, but haven't done so far - because of the ban!

Until there are no stray dogs, you will have to put up with them on the Lapta Way. As said above, they can't read or wipe their bums for that matter. Now that would be a novelty wouldn't it?

Re: Lapta walkway dogs
I've often been joined on my walks around Lapta by a friendly stray dog or two and they have followed me to the walkway. I haven't yet encountered dog dirt on it, so assume owner's are cleaning up. I don't own a dog but don't mind folks who do walking them there, so long as their dog is friendly and under control.

If it wasn't for the dog walkers there wouldn't be a quater of people on the walk that there is. I think it aught to be altered
to only dog walkers on the path, that way you may not get as many dogs murdered by our friendly farmers.

I have never had a problem with dogs being a problem or dog poo on the Lapta walkway. We find the he biggest menace is children on bikes! The Lapta walkway is a wonderful place to go for a stroll. Like Keithcaley, we have dogs and would love to take our dogs for a walk along the pathway.... if we did, we would carry plastic bags to use. I think it would be great to allow dogs on this pathway.

Re: Lapta walkway dogs
It should be made to encompass as many users as possible. If that means dogs and bikes so be it. The punishment should be on offenders not clearing up after their dogs.
Some are wise and some otherwise.....
