debit cards for Turkish banks

I recently tried to renew my NTV subscription on line with my Credit West debit card but it was declined. I called at the bank today and was informed that the debit card could only be used for ATM and shop transactions not on line.
Does any one know of any local banks that issue debit cards which are usable on line on the internet?

the reason being NTV will take Lira from the account and change into euros, obviously at a lesser exchange rate so if I use my UK card I will lose out changing into Lira then further changing into euros

I recently had the same problem so asked Credit West Bank to upgrade my debit card so it could be used both as a credit card and a debit card. The process took 2 days and I was able to pay NTV using my same card as a credit card. I am still able to use my card for debit card purchases and did so today. One card - two functions!

I understand that but is there a Turkish bank that has debit cards you can use online?

Having a business i have cheque books and cards over drafts and such but you still cant use the cards or any other except Turkey some places
There is no purchasing power with any of these cards on line or outside Turkey even in the south witch you get a big no from
Funny seeing as they are broke and would think as you can exchange the lira any were in the world bar the south they would take it
Wounder how much money they do except in there bail out that actually dose in some way come in lira
funny old world
