Coffee Cup Conversations by the one and only Can Gazi, focuses on fashion this week - read on.

In this era of technology, where extraordinary developments seem to occur on a daily basis, it's essential we keep abreast of things in order to avoid getting lost for good on the Internet highway! The world really is a small place, with messages and news articles travelling to all corners of the globe faster than the speed of light. University students in particular are keen to keep up to date. Smartphones and tablets allow the "techno generation" to communicate using a selection of social media that have taken the world by storm. Cyprus International University student Linda Madzara enlightens me on her part time career as a fashion blogger on the World Wide Web.

Originally from Zimbabwe, Linda is close to completing her undergraduate studies in the Department of International Relations. She will graduate next semester and is looking forward to furthering her education in another foreign country outside her native home. As most young women in the modern world she is interested in fashion and modelling. What sets her aside from her contemporaries is that she shares her knowledge and her passion for clothes with others via a blog she has established under the name of "iamflowerbomb.weebly.com".
Just in case you don't know a blog, according to a Wikipedia definition is "short for weblog, and is a discussion or informational site published on the World Wide Web and consisting of discrete entries ("posts") typically displayed in reverse chronological order. Blogs are usually the work of a single individual, and often cover a single subject." Linda's blog is about fashion, and very popular it is too!
Again, thanks to the power of the Internet, we can follow the latest fashions and trends and purchase any item of clothing we want online and have it delivered to our homes. Shopping has never been so easy! Linda enjoys surfing the net for new clothes as much as she does window shopping in the local high-street. She is particularly inspired by Barbadian singer Rihanna, but also follows other famous fashion bloggers and celebrities. She regularly updates her blogs with posts showing the latest styles and the companies she has bought each item from; in fact it's a personal cyberspace catalogue for everyone to browse through. From everyday casual wear, to an outfit suitable for a first date; Linda has the perfect set up for every occasion. She even models and poses for photographs that are, naturally, also shared on her blog.

Linda is currently enjoying a rise in popularity since her blog was established back in January this year. Her followers appreciate her good dress sense and admire her tastes. Friends and acquaintances often ask her for advise and she is more than happy to oblige. Another unique thing about Linda is that she incorporates traditional African styles with more modern western trends. A close friend of hers designs chokers and the accessories that she uses often, and they stylishly complement the clothes she has chosen to match them with.
Whilst her academic studies bear no relation to her work on the Internet, Linda tells me that she wants to continue this fashion blog for as long as she can, even develop it. Her blog can be followed online, and also from the popular social media website Instagram. Just type and search for the name iam_flowerbomb.
