Car battery life question

My car battery appears to have died today it is less than a year old, maybe 8 months if that, is this normal? considering the climate here

It was fine this morning and has just been parked outside since then.

My last battery replacement was 11 years after I bought the car
A friend had a Galaxy and the battery kept going flat from new
It was the courtesy switch on the boot being faulty and draining the battery
Have the battery charged and then a drop test on the battery
Is the alternator working and putting the charge in
First Go back to the battery supplier
Batteries in the uk are /were designed to go just past their guarantee then die but life has moved on since then and the only pressure on your battery would be the air con on short runs

If you got it from Pitstop then it will have come with a two year guarantee, normal life span for battery on motors here used to be around 3 to 5 years but probably better now.

In my experience car batteries seem to fail suddenly here compared to the UK and other cooler places. One never seems to get any warning of an impending failure.

As always, it depends the quality you buy and the supplier. My vehicle has two 12 volt batteries, purchased five years ago from Sol at his workshop in Alsancak near Golden Lady and next to Ya Belesh. Both batteries both still in tip top condition but the price was about 300 Tl each.

I've contacted the garage that supplied the battery, thay are coming this morning to sort it out thank goodness.

I was told that it is a common occurrence here at this time of year when the batteries just fry!

It was also odd that I had no warning that the battery was likely to fail ie any warning light, unless I missed it as it was a very bright day yesterday and today promises to be even hotter!

Why would the a/c put pressure on the a/c?
