does anybody know who can repair fridges
Hi, I did post this in the items wanted thread but not really sure where to post. We have a Vestel fridge /Freezer. The Freezer is working perfectly but the Fridge is not working. It could be a loose connection within the fridge light because sometimes it comes on and then goes off again

Thank you

Most Vestel fridge /Freezers work by pushing up cool air from the freezer section so if the freezer is working the likelihood is that fluff is blocking the passage of air.... pull out the freezer and check around the back and bottom of the unit - you may simply need to give it a good hoover-out....lily10 wrote:Hi, I did post this in the items wanted thread but not really sure where to post. As I've mentiond on another thread, the humid atmosphere here can result in the formation of ice which builds up every time that the door is opened. This can jam the blades of the fan which is supposed to circulate the air (sometimes preceded by a 'clicking noise' as the fan blades start to rub against the ice).Groucho wrote:Most Vestel fridge /Freezers work by pushing up cool air from the freezer section so if the freezer is working the likelihood is that fluff is blocking the passage of air.... pull out the freezer and check around the back and bottom of the unit - you may simply need to give it a good hoover-out....lily10 wrote:Hi, I did post this in the items wanted thread but not really sure where to post. We can second the recommendation for Temel - he is very good.
The cure is to switch it off, take all the food out of the appliance, leave the door open, and defrost the whole thing - et voila!
It might take more than 24 hours, but you should be able to speed it up with bowls of warm water, or a hairdryer.
Make sure that it's all dried out, particularly any exposed insulating material, because if it's soaked with water, it won't do its job properly, and the problem will recur.
Of course, you have the issue of what to do with all the food! - I'll leave that one to you...

Yes,have used Entegre before,he was very good & efficient. Repaired a dishwasher & sorted out a lighting problem. Very reasonably priced. Not too much English,we managed to get by with my limited Turkish.

That's good to know, I'd seen the place, but had no idea if they were any good, and I don't like to suggest places that I haven't tried myself, without some sort of feedback from others. Thank you.Becker wrote:Yes,have used Entegre before,he was very good & efficient. Repaired a dishwasher & sorted out a lighting problem. Very reasonably priced. The condenser coil has a electric defrost element fastened to the front of it. If this fails as mine did the condenser and fan will get blocked with ice. With no air flow the fridge will get warm. Easy d.I.y. repair.
