Well done Alsancak Belediyesi!
Great atmosphere in Alsancak Village last night on the first night of the Festival
Locals and expats mingling happily together, The mayor shaking hands with everybody, children in traditional costumes performing.
Belediyesi boys helping to make the night run smoothly.
Well done everybody. It was a pleasure being part of it all, and still 3 days to go!!

Went last night. Had a great time and stayed until midnight and it was still going strong. Little children, mums and dads, Grandma's and Graddads all having a good time. Food stalls smelled gorgeous and calorific. Great music and good time had by all. Went from end to end and only heard 4 other English speakers. Pity that. Last night tonight. Congrats Alsancak Belediye.

The reason you never heard our voices Sophie is because I could not find out anything about this.l No notice in our village. (I think the loud hailer said something, but in garbled Turkish); no posters,no leaflet,s no invitations et.c Where did you find out about it? And if there are posters anyway in awkward places, well I can't see those cos I am driving! But I guess the loc als find out by wordof mouth from families and friends. Shame that, as I do like supporting local thing,s but when you don't know about it, then you can't, can you.

Last night as per tonight (Sunday) Heard about it word of mouth. That's usually the way these things are done here, Pop down and have look. Not sure there will a the Main Act i.e. singers on stage though. Starts to warm up 9.00 onwards I guess and cafes are heaving.

As Turtle said it has been posted on thier facebook page quite a few times, I have seen posters in shops, cafes etc all through Alsancak and Lapta I don't know about other areas but does seem to have been well advertised.
It has been a good festival, very well organised.

Re: Well done Alsancak Belediyesi!
We only heard about it on Thursday. So decided to go that night. Good atmosphere. As said above lovely to see so many families there
Everyone was pleasant. Lots of local food stuffs and crafts. Had catered for everyone - with bouncy castle big music stage. Plenty of seating. Enough space for parking away from closed off roads. Well done Alsancak
