Credit where credit is due this time. Apart from one card, which might come in a day or two, we have received everything sent to us this year from the UK. So what with everything arriving safely in UK and then receiving all at this end, we are delighted.

Agree absolutely, I've received more post than ever before, and all before Christmas.Well done to the various post offices concerned.

Sorry to disagree - received 1 card so far and still awaiting a small parcel sent from the UK 4 weeks ago, so no change as far as I can see. Post Office was in such chaos in December that I took my cards to the South and posted them. At least they arrived for Christmas.

The PO here is 'different'. Wife's best mate posted her Christmas parcel to TRNC in October - still no sign of it. Some cards have arrived, some Christmas cards posted for Christmas 2014 arrived in June 2015. Go with the flow.

Also disagree - none of my family cards have arrived in the UK. Sent from Karaoglanoglu PO to all parts, Scotland, Midlands and London and this is the first time in 8 years they have not arrived. So for us not an improvement on their 'old' service. Needless to say, have not received most of the ones sent to us either but that is not unusual, we never do. Still looking for birthday cards sent in November and never received.

We were always advised to post and receive mail in brown envelopes, it has worked well in the pst. Maybe, Sophie you could advise how your post was sent? Recorded, brown envelope etc........that said, we had a parcel posted to a po box in the south 2 weeks ago, recorded and its being tracked as sitting at Larnaca for the last week,........

whatarotty, honestly did nothing. Just took a load in one day, (3 days or so after rates went up) and then went in 3 days later with another 15 plus 3 large white envelopes with calendars in, paid up and that was that. As I said, West country, North West, East of England in general. Monthly magazines in plastic covers arrive OK, and nothing special in UK with them either. Feel nervous now in case everything starts to go pear shaped in 2016!!

Postal service is a JOKE, Why does it take 7 days for a letter to get from Lefkosia to Girne, all letters from the South take 10 to 14 days to any where in the UK, Parcels no chance and they put up the cost, must be for the 13th salary...

All mail from down South flies direct to London UK airports from, here it goes first to Istanbul, then on to main airports in UK. That's a big hold up for a start off.

Sorry Sophie confused by last post ... from down south goes to Istanbul... last year I had avery big posting going on forum and Brs promised to look into it and sort it. You stated you had received yours as well last year, but the great majority of us didnt. Mine arrived 3 jan post marked mostly, lefkosa november. No different this year despite promises from BRS to look into it. So waiting for christmas cards as usual in new year. Feel so sorry for those who miss cards from England. Many ex pats depend on it particularly those who dont go back for whatever reason. Anyway, for those who didnt receive them, a very happy sunny new year x
