P.O. box in Alsancak

I am moving to TRNC soon and will need to get a P.O. box in Alsancak.

Do you need a residence permit to do that, or can I get a box at any time?

If I remember rightly (but I may be wrong), you'll need a rental or purchase agreement plus, likely, your passports. It's off the top of my head, I'm afraid, but you don't need residency, just proof of where you live and who you are. We have used the post box since we moved here and had very few postal problems, mostly when people forget to add "Mersin 10" to the address. And it's definitely better since post codes were added.
