The mayor of Esentepe Cemal Erdogan was recently a guest on BRT 1 News and he stated publicly on that show that there are about 2000 homes awaiting water meters and connection and all the profits they expect to make from the installation will be spent on the Esentepe Beach Project.
For those unlucky people who have paid his extortionate demand for water connection should now go back to him and ask for shares in the project.

2,000 X 5,000 = 10,00,000 TL

Zero's??? I think that works out to 10,000,000.00TL or £2,232,076.02 - must be a huge beach project he is planning!! Considering what the initial purchase cost of the meter is then his profit margin must be the highest ever seen here. The way things look with the exodus of ex pats from the area he may find he has more than 2000 homes without the new meters in the long run. Hope his new mercedes is still under sale or return - lol.
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

The actual charge per household is 5274 YTL. This is the cost of pipes and meters to an estate plus £100 deposit. The owners are then personally responsible for the cost to connect from the central point to the house. By my reckoning, the Mayor is expecting to receive 10,548,000 YTL. A local and very respected contractor estimated his company could do the work for just over 1.25 million YTL. Makes one wonder what contractual and financial checks are in operation in Esentepe. Hopefully, the Ombudsman's investigation will shed some light.
