Can Family Visitors Drive Our TRNC Registered Vehicle
Hi All, just wondered when our family visit later this year, are they legally allowed to drive our TRNC registered vehicle on their UK licence and would they be covered using the vehicle insurance?
Thanks for any replies

As long as you add their names to your insurance there is no problem. Make sure you have their license details when you go to the insurance office.

Check with your insurance company. Here it is the car that is insured not the driver. Unless your insurance states otherwise anyone can drive it. But do check.
Ours is insured fully comprehensively and we do not need to add drivers names to the insurance.
Yes they can use their UK licences as they are visitors here.
Make sure they have the licence and a copy of their passport with them at all times.
We house swap with friends in the UK and that includes the cars. In the UK they need to add our names, here we have not had to do that.

It's also a good idea to write a note giving your friends permission to drive your car and have it in the glove compartment of the car, especially if they are not specifically mentioned on the insurance policy. It may prevent problems if they are stopped by the police. Some insurance companies allow any drivers, some you need to name each driver. We've had both types of policy here.

I thought I saw something recently that you could only have two named drivers or you had to pay extra for any driver
