Computer information please

I am thinking about buying a laptop, but it gets rather confusing when it comes to the technical side of things, so I was wondering what the difference is between a CELERON processor and a DUAL CORE processor and which is the best one to choose from.

Many thanks

Are you going to buy here or in the UK?
UK much cheaper.
You should go for at least an i3 or i5 processor.
Expect to pay between £400 and £500. 4 or 6 Meg of Ram, as if upgradable, more ram beter performance, hard drive about 750 gb, DVD rewriter, bluetooth and wireless, at least 3 USM ports and HDMI,
Lenovo, who make all the Laptops IBM used to make have some really good machines.
Just bought a G580 for £370 in the UK.Nice big screen as well.
Good box, bought it out in my hand baggage.

I was thinking of getting one that I have seen on this sales forum, as it says its only 5 months old, but someone wrote a reply saying it was to expensive for a Celeron processor, which has put me off really, so I will probably get one in the uk now when I return in Feb.
Thanks for the info.

I always advise before even thinking of what type of computer and therefore processor you would like, clearly establish what you are going to use it for, word processing - watching video/tv - manipulating images - high end gaming require different levels of processing power and ancillaries (eg memory/hard disk space/cache/graphics card). It really is horses for courses!
Retired in the TRNC - now also retired in the UK
