Is tamarind available in supermarkets?

The only Tamarind (paste) we ever found was in South side,couple supermarkets specializing in Asian spices. From North go through at Leda St,walk to the end,turn left or right,walk maybe 5 mins. To the right opposite bus station there are 2/3 such stores or left is one,not as well stocked as the others.

If you are stuck you can make a good substitute. Either White wine vinegar or Rice vinegar with equal amounts of brown sugar. Tamarind is normally used to give a slightly bitter taste.

Alphamega (south) sell Tesco concentrated tamarind paste.
