Fishing Trips

Hi Everyone

Can anyone recommend a fishing boat trip for either a morning/afternoon or all day. I’m looking for 4 persons.

Go into Dive marine shop in the old harbour by the mosque they can arrange it for you.

The fishing license was introduced some years ago to try to curtail the GC fishermen from emptying the lakes and of course the sea. Too difficult to make it just a license that the GC had to have so they made it for everybody that was not TC. There used to be one guy on a scooter that used to travel the North checking on fishermen's licenses but have not seen him about for years now - probably ran out of petrol somewhere or got a better job higher up in Government. There is somebody who lurks around the Girne area checking on licenses but have not seen him for years either - maybe he made off with the other guys scooter???

Yes....know what you mean. Went out for a 5 hr trip 3 years ago and caught nowt but plastic bags!

Hi all

Thank you all for your input and we went to the harbour as suggested.

Advice was...don’t bother, it’s the end of the season and there’s no fish! If we want to go nevertheless it’s 80 euros per person.
