Rental tax payments

Morning...

Can you pay your rental tax quarterly without penalty, or does it need to be paid monthly? I tried to ask at the tax office yesterday, but no one seemed to able to confirm either way.

My experience is if you pay mire than a month late there is a small penalty. Sometimes i pay three minhs at once . But the penalty us small. 5 to 10 tl . No idea hiw they calculate the penalty. Someone told me before it was 5 tl but i all i know is that its about this.

I usually pay 3 or 4 months un advance as I am not always in TRNC when the tax is due. I tried to pay up until the end of the year last month but was only able to pay the actual tax due. I explained that I was going away until the new year but got the shrug. I am guessing that they are leaving the government the option to change the tax rate at short notice in the current economic situation.
