Looking for washing soda & Turkish name for washing sodaf

This might sound an odd request but a while back I had a bad fall in our home (the marble won hands down) which has left me with a lump of fluid on my leg. Washing soda is great in a poultice for drawing out fluids, I used it when I was recuperating from a broken leg and ankle. You make the poultice, wrap it around the area with fluid retention and hey presto, you see the poultice getting wet and the swelling going down. Old remedy but does anyone here know where I might find washing soda and what the Turkish name for it would be?

Hi sorry to hear you have problem, Mr Pound sells UK washing soda it tends to have gone like a brick but you can hammer it into small bits.

Thanks, I'll try Mr Pound. To make the poultice, you need to pound it to small crystals anyway, but at least I know the Turkish name now. Andrew - it's to draw off fluid, so I need crystals. You put them in a hankie or tea-towel, tie it around the area with fluid, and then watch as the poultice becomes wet. A herbalist in Queensland told me this remedy and it works a treat. After I broke my ankle, my foot would swell in the evening and get really painful, but the poultice would draw off the fluid and help relieve the pain. The lump where I bashed my leg recently isn't painful except when I lie on it at night, but I look rather like I've got Elephant Man's disease at present! Thanks for all your responses.

The turkish name for washing soda is "çamaşır sodası"...

Mo, Mr pound hasn't had any for a while now. The manager told me that they are waiting for a consignment that was left off the last delivery, and it should arrive at the end of November. I use soda all the time in my washing machine as it helps keep down the limescale.
