Residency renewal?
I know things are somewhat up in the air at the moment but bear with me please.
I got temp residency last year (primarily to get a TRNC driving licence which I now have - 5 year term)
We are backwards and forwards from UK to TRNC several times a year.
6 weeks in spring & 6 weeks autumn plus a fortnight here and there (just over 100 days a year)
If I simply don't renew temp residency and rely on the 90 days vistors allowance - am I missing something or will I be ok?
Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Re: Residency renewal?
From what was said at the last BRS meeting it was 90 days in 180. So I take it from that you can be here for 90 days be away for 90 and then come back again. So residency for many will be the best option as and when it is sorted out.

Re: Residency renewal?
If it was me I would renew for another 12 months before it changes (if that's possible for you) then wait to see what pans out for next year.

Re: Residency renewal?
A muhtar's letter would have been a cheaper and quicker way to get a driving licence.

That's what I thought but I was told I needed residency to get a licence!frontalman wrote:A muhtar's letter would have been a cheaper and quicker way to get a driving licence.
This 90 days in 180............when does it start and finish? Is it a calendar year?
As I said I'm only in TRNC around 100 days in a calendar year.
One issue is that if I am seen not to be renewing residency will I be fined next time I visit?
I was thinking of renewing this year and see how it pans out but need to renew in Nov when I am only in TRNC for 10 days which will not be enough time to do it all.
Thanks again for any help and I appreciate it's a bit up in the air until the BRS & Govt tell us more.

"90 in 180" - Have a look here, starting with message 45 (with link), then my message 50 and LauraB's and mine onwards - hope you can understand how it works...
