Politeness
I attended the remembrance service in Girne today, at the conclusion, I thanked and shook the hands of two two police officers who were present. I was told by both it was a pleasure. After 18 years here and recently feeling somewhat negative towards those in authority, I was appreciative of those comments. I didn't think it would be appropriate to approach the prime minister's close protection team who looked quite stern.

Re: Politeness
It's unfortunate that it sometimes takes grief and sadness to bring people together and remind us that we are ALL human.
