Goodbye Orphanides !

I just found this:-

"The Orphanides supermarket chain has gone into receivership. All ten branches of the supermarket chain have closed, resulting in 1200 former employees without jobs. The employees were yesterday protesting outside parliament."

wow thats bad news am sure the big one in the shopping centre all alone must have been running up massive bills so many staff and no customers, i wonder if its lidl thats given them a run for there money

I am not surprised,Office Staff and 10 shops,and they have 1200 employee's!!!!!!!!! that ratio is well above the norm!

However,bad time right on Xmas.

Yep, i read the article on lgnnews.com too.
Though it does say that the owner and founder ( Christos Orphanides) is looking for a buyer. I suspect it will be hard to find in these times.
