British Passports

Have just realized that my passport runs out in April,So could anyone inform me the procedure to renew without returning to the UK please.Any help would be grateful.

I believe that people use Cafe Boss' DHL service to send their passports off - they are just around the corner from HSBC in Girne.

Download and fill in renewal form from website, make sure you fill in that you are in Cyprus. You will also download the credit card payment form. Get photos done as per the notes supplied on website. The photographer by HSBC knows what is needed. Take to Cafe Boss by HSBC and they DHL it to Spain to be verified, it then gets sent to UK for printing and finally they send it to the Consulate in Lefkosia where you go and pick it up. Takes about 3 weeks. Hope that helps.

Would add to the last post that the British Consulate phone you when it is ready for collection as they did with me last Friday.

Just an important note................................when you go to the Consulate you are not allowed to take your MOBILE PHONE IN......................NOT EVEN ALLOWED TO LEAVE IT AT RECEPTION.

So either go with someone or leave it in the car..............................
