Just to give any of our members reading this, an update on progress after the recent roof disaster.

A small team of very hardworking people spent most of last Saturday moving books and re-organising the usable part of the building. The rest of the work was completed this morning.

We will re-open on Wednesday next 9th January and will be offering the fiction section only. This a temporary measure until we either have the roof repaired or find a suitable new premises.

Builders have all said that the roof repairs have to wait until beginning of March when the better weather comes (hopefully).

If anyone knows of a suitable empty building to re-house the Library or even of two or three rooms within a large building, please contact me. Unfortunately being a charity and totally reliant upon donations and volunteers, we are not in a position to pay anything other than a "peppercorn" rent, and this is the crux of our problem. If it was an old basically sound building we would be very happy to do basic repairs and renovation. We have some fantastic volunteers.
