It will help if you give more details on the actual model/year/registration date/fuel etc. Not all cars are the same just because it says FORD on the outside! For instance I have a RAV4 and an (almost) identical vehicle owned by a Turkish Cypriot friend of mine pays less road tax than I do because his weighs 20Kg less than mine!!! Mine is 20Kg over the limit for the same band as his is and weighs the same but has been put in the log book as weighing 20Kg more - end result is it costs me around 600TL a year more in road tax. Welcome to Cypriot road scales - lol.
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

It’s just a general question I’m looking at both petrol and diesel vehicles and was just after a rough guide

I don't think the rates have been announced for this year but here is an example of last year's rates, sorry about translation. The road tax depends on fuel type, weight, age, whether its classed as a commercial vehicle or not so working it out is a bit of a black art. I know when we had a diesel freelander 15 years ago it was pretty expensive to tax, 1TL per Kg (?) much more than the petrol version.
