Re: Yellow fever vaccination?
Mollie. You may already have done so but check to be sure a booster for yellow fever is needed for the country(-ies) to be visited.
We keep all our travel vaccinations up to date but the last advice we got was that many of them are now considered to offer lifetime protection if a full initial vaccination programme has been followed.
For yellow fever Wikipedia (I know!) includes the following:
“The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends routine immunization in all countries where the disease is common. This should typically occur between nine and twelve months of age. Those traveling to areas where the disease occurs should also be immunized. Additional doses after the first are generally not needed.” (my emphasis)
Of course you should follow the advice of professionals.

Thank you, the lifetime thing is what we heard. We join a cruise ship in South Africa in December, we have had the initial vaccinations, I googled it and yes, it looks like the rules have changed, it appears to be vail for life now. I have written to my travel agent to confirm. Thank you for you reply, very much appreciated.

I too am looking for information on where to get a yellow fever vaccination. Does anyone have up to date details on where to go in the South and how to make an appointment if necessary? Thanks

Re: Yellow fever vaccination?
I got my yellow fever vaccination at Paphos General. That’s where my GP told me to go. I suppose that the other general hospitals in the south also have vaccination clinics, including the one in Nicosia which may be easier for you. Just call them and ask. At Paphos General the clinic was very professional. I did not need an appointment but Nicosia may be busier.

Thank you. I've managed to make an appointment at the clinic in Larnaca.
