However though, it's going to be another tenner if you leave the car in their carpark for a week.

Seeing as the new charges are not on the airport's website, I decided, on leaving Cyprus two days ago, to take a photo of the board - Unfortunately you can't see everything on the attachment below, but at the top it writes "15 minutes to 1 hour - 6 TL" . And at the bottom it writes "10 TL for each additional day".

According to my calculations, the new charge for leaving your car there for 7 days and one minute has increased from 50TL to 85TL - that's a 70% increase, but as someone said on another forum, it's still much cheaper than at Heathrow for example.

Whilst paying for car parking at airports is not a favourite activity of mine, the charges to be honest are reasonable compared to many airports - its just that for many years people have managed to get away with not paying anything.

I suppose its progress and all we can hope is that the airport infrastructure steadily improves

I remember the good old days when it was free! But as has been said 'progress' has taken ov er. But it is probably still cheaper than anyone (single person) paying for a taxi both ways, and one has the convenience of knowing you can fall into your own car and if you want to stop off for a cuppa on the way home, then no problem!

But i wish my income had gone up by 70% - now that WOULD be nice!

Just wait and see, unless the police stamp AND STAMP HARD, all the surrounding roads, kerbs and pathways will be double parked. They should do what Stansted did, put bollards everwhere to stop people doing it. If its just a case of putting a fine under the window cill, the fines will join the thousands of unpaid fines that are already piled up in the police offices. (I've seen them myself)

I was at Ercan yesterday retrieving a friends car left the night before. The cost was 15ytl.
I noticed there was a lot less cars parked than usual.
