We booked two sets of flights for this year -the first going 29 May and the other on 10 September. Both sets were booked on the Super Saver basis, i.e. no refunds, name changes, time/date changes, etc. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to cancel our holidays for the time being. On enquiring with our travel insurance company about a refund, we were told that we would be liable for £150.00 excess on each of both the flights. The flights were very reasonable to start with (we booked ages ago) but having to pay £300.00 in total would have amounted to about half the amount of the fares. We contacted Pegasus and, although it did take a bit of time and a couple of faxes, I am delighted to say that they have refunded the cost of our flights in full. They were under absolutely no obligation to do this. I know they are sometimes much maligned (although we have never had any complaints) and so thought I would post this and give credit where credit is due.
Well done and a big thank you to Pegasus.

Wish you could give the name of the contact. I booked mine on line and had to cancel, and lost about £100. But I just put it down to my own choice, as I knew there was no refund on the cheap tickets. Maybe next time I should try harder.
But it is always good to hear that these oganisations can be human! or maybe I should not book on line!

Re: In praise of Pegasus
I have had a claim in with PGS since October 2011. They are totally impossible to deal with, they refuse to reply till they get a nudge from the CAA and even that has to be escalated, they recently made me a second offer but you cannot reply to the e-mail as it is a no reply address, their online message service will not let you copy and paste to you have to retype everything. It is clearly designed to try to get you to give up, slipperiest lot I have ever dealt with as far as airlines went.
The last scam was not giving change saying you would get it later, then crew change in IST and the second crew know nothing!

You can only speak as you find, obviously. However, a tip if you need to speak to them from the UK, which we found worked well. Try phoning them at around 7.00am GMT. We managed to speak to an actual person at this time, rather than leaving a message on the Ansaphone. It took 4 phone calls and 2 faxes.
I should perhaps add that we had to cancel due to health problems and I don't know whether that made a difference? They were not, as I have already said, under any 'legal' obligation to give us any mone back at all.
