MOT procedure

My MOT is due on the 4 th of November and I have to leave the island soon after how long should I allow to do an mot
So I go to the tax office and pay for the mot how much?
Exhaust test on the car does it have to be the same day?
who does it on the east of the island catalkoy way?
Then to the mot station by the police station and Wednesday market do you book or just turn up and hope ?
Any holidays in that November period from the 4 th onwards where they will be closed ?

How much depends on your car. Exhaust test on the same day.

I believe the MOT is a fixed price and according to BRS website is 124TL this year. 15th November is a holiday. The most important thing is to turn up in a clean car! Seriously. The test itself will only take the time it takes for the tester to walk around the car and peer at the engine from a distance, in my experience...

Second "turn up in a clean car". Also make sure you have, at least, rear mudflaps, and it the tester is feeling nowty, he might want to check the engine number agrees with the logbook.

I managed to tax my car 12 days before it was due this May

dont just go the date on your MOT cert i went to pay my car tax this morning and my MOT was due in dec the nice lady behind the counter wrote the dates that the MOT needs to be done and thats now the last week sept and the first week oct

i think i have a copy of the list somewhere you need to find the letters of your reg on the form and it gives the window which you have to do it in

Andrew thanks mine has moved from June to November which is a pain
I 'd like it to be October
I was amazed that the road tax was allowed 12 days before it was due hope I can do the same with the mot
