Yachts involved in "20 Temmuz" celebrations now in Aydıncık

Yesterday yachts from the TRNC Sailing Federation left Cyprus for the mainland. This morning in Aydıncık, in the province of Mersin, there was a ceremony (shown in the second picture below) where the yachtsmen handed over and then received flags.

Tomorrow morning the small flotilla will set sail for Girne. On Saturday morning there will be another ceremony where the flags are handed over at Çıkarma Plajı. After hoisting the flag and lighting a torch it will then be the duty of chosen students to bring the flags and torch by relay (in Olympic torch fashion) to the main ceremony in Lefkoşa.
