Does anyone know where I can buy Soda Crystals?
Have tried a number of Supermarkets, without success.

Mr Pound usually have them although they are normally in a solid block rather than crystals!

I assume that you are talking about Caustic Soda crystals - Sodium Hydroxide, used for cleaning drains, unblocking sinks, killing weeds on paths, rust removal, and de-coking motorbike exhausts...
All of the supermarkets sell it in small quantities, packs of 3 or 4 sachets to be used as a drain unblocker - various brands including Mr Muscle.
Mr Pound do sell Sodium-something-or-other-decahydrate in one Kilo packs, which is ALMOST the same, it is fine for unblocking sinks and drains - i.e. it dissolves organic material, and converts fats into soap which is water soluble so that it is easily flushed away, but I'm not sure about its suitability for other purposes.
Another possible alternative is Dishwasher powder, whose main active ingredient is sodium hydroxide, ditto with most oven cleaning products (well, the ones that 'grab the back of your throat', anyway )
Hope that helps....

Thanks Keith, but I was referring to Soda crystals which are sodium carbonate.
I do however appreciate your interest in replying

Hi Ozankoys,
I thought I had replied earlier to your mail.... to say thank you for your advice. The response is either circulating in the ether or I must have pressed the wrong button. More then likely the latter.
I bought the soda at Mr Pound, as you suggested, in Lefkosa as I was unable to find any in the Girne branch.
Many thanks once again
Joe

You are most welcome, sorry they did not have them in Girne.
