Press Teknik - What is Happening

10:30 am - there is a gathering of 100+ people opposite Press Teknik (Lapta/Alsancak border) with placards and someone making a speech. The main road is down to a single lane and there are several police cars with officers monitoring things and directing traffic.

Anybody know what is happening?

I have just returned from taking my dogs to "Garfields" (vet) and I asked what it is all about.

Protest about a recent fatal motor bike accident.

Noticed that the police on duty were stopping passing people riding bikes without a helmet.

Bit too late in my opinion. They could prevent a lot of accidents if they stopped them on a daily basis while the offence was being committed.

Was that the one outside Atakara? wish I had bene there to get the news, but was off in the other direction. Can't understand why they are protesting. I still see loads of people without helmet son bike,s and in a sense I can see if they wish to defy the law then they can take the consequences, an dmaybe they don't like the Big Brother stuff too much - having done what they wanted for years. But if someone chooses not to wear a crash helmet and gets killed why should the public protest.
Or was it different circumstances. Maybe it was to do with having traffic lights or, or, or. Does anyone know EXACTLY what it was about?
